Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has made the team's intentions heading into the 2026 NFL season clear.
Mahomes is expected to be back in time for the Chiefs' Week 1 season opener against the Denver Broncos after spending the last nine months recovering from a torn ACL.
Mahomes' injury came at the end of a terrible Chiefs season in 2025, and now, the QB and the franchise want to put last year's misery behind them.
Mahomes spoke at the Chiefs' annual Kickoff Luncheon, where he promised that the Chiefs will be back this season as a new version of the team that dominated the NFL over the last six seasons.
"The bad taste that we have from last season: it didn't go the way we wanted it to. Coach Reid talked about that. But we learned from it. We have gotten better… Just as hungry as I am, and everyone on this stage, we are going out with a mindset to be a new version of the Chiefs that goes out there and dominates the same way the old one did."
