LIBERTY HILL - When Tyler McCrary, a Legacy Ranch junior who doubles as the high school's athletic mascot, got the night going with an electric guitar rendition of the national anthem, maybe that was the first sign the Wranglers' first varsity game of their football program's history would be picture perfect.
With thousands of parents, students and Legacy Ranch staff on hand to witness the team's first game inside the school's brand new $18 million Wrangler Stadium, it sort of felt like a communal experience that extended into all of the Texas Hill Country. And the senior-less Wranglers never looked an ounce out of place, thumping Manor New Tech 59-0 in a game that was well over before the second half even began.

Afterward, players celebrated in their own end zone as the band played.
"This is amazing. The culture, the atmosphere, the support, the community," Ashley Arrasmith, whose son Blake is an offensive lineman on the team, said before the game. The pre-game tailgate saw hundreds line the parking lot in blue and navy T-shirts. Girls wore cowboy boots and hats while boys threw mini-footballs across the lawn.
