Nvidia reported second-quarter revenue of $96.2 billion on Wednesday, more than doubling from a year earlier as demand for its AI chips continued to accelerate.
The company's data center division, which houses its AI accelerator business, generated $89 billion in revenue for the quarter ended July 26, up 117% from the same period a year ago and 18% from the prior quarter, the company said. **** yst expectations for data center revenue stood at $85.8 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Total revenue rose 106% year over year and 18% from the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Net income reached $59.7 billion, up 126% from a year ago. Diluted earnings per share on a non-GAAP basis came in at $2.22. Wall Street had been looking for $92.5 billion in revenue and $2.09 per share in earnings, according to Bloomberg.
Gross margin for the quarter was 75%, up from 72.4% in the year-ago period.
Looking ahead, Nvidia forecast current-quarter revenue of $108 billion, within a 2% range in either direction, with gross margin expected to come in around 74%. The company said its outlook does not include any data center compute revenue from China. On the post-earnings call, CFO Colette Kress said the company is targeting roughly 70% revenue growth in fiscal 2028.
