As the Los Angeles Rams get ready for their Week 1 showdown in Australia, the team has been overly cautious when it comes to the health of their players, especially their stars. It's allowed players to participate in complete or near-complete seasons due to the lack of wear-and-tear being put on their bodies during practice.
The reason they do this is to avoid the injuries currently plaguing the NFL. For their Week 1 opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, they have been the antithesis of the Rams, using physical practices to build calluses for the season. The 49ers have been ravaged by injuries for years, and according to 49ers insider Matt Maiocco, it appears All-Pro defender Nick Bosa has suffered a bit of a setback from an ACL injury. It has forced the 49ers to take things slowly with their top pass rusher.
"Coach Kyle Shanahan said 49ers DE Nick Bosa has tendinitis, which, he said, is "a pretty normal thing with ACLs." He said the team has to be smart with Bosa from week to week," wrote Maiocco.
Bosa only played in three games last season and hasn't had a double-digit sack season since 2023. The Rams and 49ers are set to play in one month, with their contest being set for September 10th.
