Brad Pitt and his ex, Angelina Jolie, have reportedly escalated their legal battle amid a dispute over financial records. The disagreement allegedly centers on income documentation tied to their business dealings and past ******* ets. The former couple settled their divorce after an eight-year battle stemming from their 2016 split, yet litigation over other matters continues.
Brad Pitt is reportedly seeking several years of financial records from Angelina Jolie. Per a July 31 filing obtained by USA TODAY, the "Troy" actor alleged that his ex-wife has not provided details about her earnings since their 2016 separation.
According to Pitt's legal team, Jolie submitted financial documents for 2020 and 2021, but reportedly declined to provide records for 2017 through 2019.
The filing adds to their long-running battle over Château Miraval, the French vineyard they bought together in 2008 and sold out of in 2021. Pitt initiated legal action in February 2022 after the "Maleficent" star offloaded her stake to an investment firm without his sign-off.
In the newest court documents, the "Seven" actor referenced Jolie's earlier argument that she had to sell her share of the estate to achieve "financial independence" from him. Jolie's legal team responded to the 62-year-old's initial demand in June, stating "the entire basis for Pitt compelling these answers is a made-up theory that Jolie did not allege."
