CBS Sports has placed Tony Romo on leave.
Romo, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback who serves as the lead ***** yst for the network's No. 1 NFL broadcast team, was arrested on July 23 on suspicion of driving under the influence.
"Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice," the network said in a statement released Friday, July 31.
Romo was pulled over in Milwaukee. Bodycam footage released after his arrest shows Romo saying he was driving to visit his grandparents after leaving a golf course. He told officers from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office that he had not had any alcoholic beverages. Another video of bodycam footage shows Romo failing a field sobriety test.
A deputy saw an open alcoholic beverage "on the passenger side of a vehicle."
