The name of Danish international Hjulmand has of course dominated the headlines at Atlético Madrid over the last week. This comes after word was forthcoming that, amid a search for fresh blood in midfield, the Metropolitano brass had identified the 27-year-old as their no.1 target.
Talks, in turn, were kicked into gear with both the board at Portuguese outfit Sporting CP, and Hjulmand's team of representatives.
