The last time Carson Hocevar raced in the Slinger Nationals his night was done early. He ended up 23rd.
The time before that, he finished with Steve Dorer's car on his roof.
These days, though, Hocevar is not just a fast and sometimes over-the-edge teen trying to make his way in NASCAR trucks.
Coming back to Slinger Speedway for the July 13-14 Nationals after a three-year absence, the 23-year-old from Portage, Michigan, is fully established on the national stage. Yes, he still pushes boundaries, and he's still a lightning rod, but he's a Cup Series race winner with a long future ahead.
Suffice to say Hocevar is looking for a better result at Slinger this time and hoping that any excitement is a little less … uh … exciting than the 2021 outcome.
