Arthur Fery will climb 78 ranking places and enter the world’s top 40 after the British wildcard reached the Wimbledon semi-finals with a brilliant victory over Flavio Cobolli.
The 23-year-old entered Wimbledon ranked 114th in the world but will rise to 36th in the world, making him the new British No 1, after becoming only the second wildcard to reach the semi-finals at the Championships.
Fery was ranked outside the world’s top 300 this time last year and only cracked the world’s top 200 in October. He entered the world’s top 100, a significant career milestone, after beating Zizou Bergs in the third round.
Should Fery continue his remarkable Wimbledon run and upset second seed Alexander Zverev in Friday’s semi-finals, the French-born Fery will head to the US Open inside the top 30 in the world and could even be seeded for the final grand slam of the season. He started the 2026 season by qualifying for the Australian Open.
Fery is also set to double his career earnings in prize money by advancing to the semi-finals, where he will receive £900,000 for reaching the final four of the tournament. Fery would earn £1.8m should he make it to the final, where the champion will win £3.6m.
