The Brazilian National Team was presented with the key to the municipality of Bernards, where it has been based since arriving in the United States for the World Cup. The symbolic item was handed over this Thursday (1st) in a ceremony at City Hall, attended by Mayor Ana Duarte McCarthy and Seleção delegation chief Leomar Quintanilha.
In the resolution published, the municipality said it was “honored” to have welcomed the Brazilian National Team’s players, coaching staff, and supporters, and highlighted that it will forever commemorate in the community the presence of one of the “most successful and admired teams in the history of world football.”
Brazil landed in the United States exactly one month ago, on June 2. Since then, the team has been staying at The Ridge hotel, located in Basking Ridge, a district of Bernards. In its first few days there, in an event organized jointly with FIFA, the team welcomed local residents to watch a training session and interact with the players.
