The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels completed a trade in MLB on Wednesday afternoon.
The Angels' official X account broke the news that they have acquired catcher Tyler Heineman from the Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations.
AngelsPR wrote (on 6/17): "Since the start of 2025, Tyler Heineman ranks tied for third among all MLB catchers with 16 Defensive Runs Saved This season, he has thrown out 12 of 33 would-be basestealers. The 36.4% caught stealing rate leads A.L. catchers (min. 15 SBA)."
The news is still making its way across the MLB landscape, so expect a lot of reactions from both sides. For the Blue Jays, it has been rumored that they were willing to part ways with Tyler Heineman, and the rumor has come to fruition.
