Today's football headlines are marked by subdued emotion following the Urda rail tragedy, the favourites' opening cup matches and the first strategic moves ahead of the winter transfer window.
Marca dedicates its front page to "The Saddest Cup", highlighting the respectful tributes to the victims of Urda at all 22 stadiums hosting the knockout competition.
On the pitch, the top-flight clubs followed the script: all progressed to the next round, although Getafe endured a scare and had to come from behind against Lebrijana.
In Andalusia, Estadio Deportivo highlights a comfortable 3-0 win for Luis García Plaza's Sevilla away to Hortaleza to seal their passage to the next round.
In Barcelona, the focus shifts to defence. Sport leads with "Centre-Back Wanted", revealing that Deco is sounding out the market for an immediate addition to ease the workload on Cubarsí and Gerard Martín, who have been playing too many minutes.
