Donovan Mitchell could have been part of one of the great Villanova teams. He revealed how legendary head coach Jay Wright's honesty ended up changing that.
Donovan Mitchell has become one of the modern NBA's best scorers, he is already a 7-time All-Star at the age of 29. The Cleveland Cavaliers man is yet to win a championship, but he could've had one in college.
Mitchell played for two years with the Louisville Cardinals between 2015 and 2017 before declaring for the NBA Draft. However, there was a chance he could have joined Villanova instead.
As with any top high school player, Mitchell met with various head coaches before deciding where to commit. And his meeting with Jay Wright is what led to him not joining the program.
