(NewsNation) — "Rich Dad Poor Dad" author Robert Kiyosaki openly talks about being $1.2 billion in debt, but that doesn't mean he's personally on the hook for that amount.
The financial self-help guru's ex-wife and business partner, Kim Kiyosaki, confirmed the figure in a recent Vanity Fair interview but said it's been widely misunderstood, noting that it represents the total debt held by a group of real estate investors.
"We have a lot of apartment houses with our partners," she told the magazine, saying the portfolio includes 1,500 units.
