The list of UConn and Connecticut ties in the NFL just keeps growing.
There were nearly 50 players who've suited up and played in the state – at both the college and high school level – that found themselves part of an NFL organization at the start of training camp, hoping for a spot on a final 53-man roster.
Former UConn quarterback Joe **** nano, who former head coach Jim Mora made a Heisman case for after his stellar 2025 season, has been a standout in training camp so far.
Fagnano signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent and outlasted Heisman runner-up Diego Pavia and injured veteran Skylar Thompson for a spot on the preseason roster. He shined in Baltimore's first preseason game, completing 22 of 28 passes for 224 yards, a touchdown and an interception in a win over the Eagles
He then doubled down on Saturday, throwing a second career touchdown as he completed 15 of 20 passes for 123 yards in a 13-3 win over the Vikings. Now challenging veteran Tyler Huntley to be Lamar Jackson's backup, **** nano is the only Ravens QB to have thrown a touchdown pass in the preseason.
