The 2029 class begin their sophomore seasons on the gridiron this month, and as some prospects continue to stake their claims for stars, Rivals has now released its initial top 100 rankings for the cycle. This follows the release of Rivals' 2029 watchlist back in June.
These prospects still have three full seasons of high school football left, but many have flashed early and are already on Rivals' radar. The rankings will eventually expand to a full Rivals300 after the upcoming season.

To kick off Monday's release, Rivals is counting down the top 10 overall prospects in the initial rankings for the class of 2029, accompanied with updated scouting summaries from Rivals National Scout Cody Bellaire:
School: Battle Ground Academy (Tenn.)
Scout's Take: "Maddox Porter is a large-bodied, highly productive pass catching mismatch who wins with his length and ability to consistently win contested catches. The nearly 6-foot-3, 185 pound wide receiver does an excellent job of manipulating his body in order to high point the football and box out defenders in order to reel in tough grabs. In his freshman season, Porter reeled in 78 passes for over 1,500 yards and a ridiculous 27 touchdowns. His body control and explosive ability makes him such a tough cover in the red zone and intermediate levels of the field. Porter's 10.5-inch hands allow him to pluck the football away from his frame and rip the football out of the air with impressive strength. He's a loose athlete with impressive fluidity for his size and will continue to get more explosive as he physically develops."
