St. Louis Cardinals rookie Joshua Baez made some baseball history on Saturday night in Chicago.
Baez, making his big-league debut, smacked the very first pitch he saw out of the park for a home run.
It was already a dream come true for the young slugger — everything you could wish and more out of your first time stepping up to the plate in the majors. Then he homered two more times.
With each successive home run, the excitement in the voice of Cardinals announcer Chip Caray rose, and by his third at-bat of the night, he was in just as much awe as the rest of us watching along at home.
"SWING, DRIVE, WELL HIT, RIGHT," said Caray as Baez lifted his third ball over the fence. "SUZUKI BACK. IT IS GONE! IT IS GONE! IT IS GONE! THREE HOMERS FOR BAEZ! MAJOR LEAGUE HISTORY AT WRIGLEY FIELD!"
