The 2026 MLB Draft has arrived and many current and possible future LSU baseball players hope to receive a phone call from a team's executives over the next two days.
Sophomore outfielder Derek Curiel has been the top prospect for LSU coach Jay Johnson's Tigers this entire draft cycle and that has not changed over this past year. Curiel has been projected to come off the board in the first round, anywhere from No. 10 to mid-20s.
As part of MLB's All-Star Weekend festivities, the two-day, 20-round MLB Draft begins July 11 when the first 10 picks will air on NBC and stream in Peacock. The rest of the draft will take place on MLB Network and MLB.com through July 12 until it's finished.
