For Texas Rangers fans who showed up at Globe Life Park on Sunday afternoon, watching Wyatt Langford hit majestic home runs (again) and Nathan Eovaldi look good on the mound must have made them feel good.
Langford stepped into the batter's box and slammed his fifth home run since coming off the Injured List. Eovaldi went six strong innings as the Rangers beat the San Diego Padres 4-3 on Sunday. With the victory, Texas picked up a series win.
Watching Langford do his thing yet again put a big smile on Rangers manager Skip Schumaker after Sunday's game.
“He’s back,” Schumaker said, according to MLB.com. “He's hitting them far, too. Those are not just wall-scrapers. He is a difference-maker in the lineup to what we envisioned coming into this season. And when Corey [Seager] gets back … I mean, those two guys are some of the best in the league.”
While we're talking about Langford and Eovaldi, the Rangers' faithful also saw Josh Jung connect for what would be the game-winning hit. Jung had himself quite a series against the Padres, going 6-for-12 with four runs scored.
