Zohran Mamdani’s City Hall speech became one of the most praised moments of the Knicks’ ***** le parade. The New York mayor spoke to fans who had waited 53 years for another NBA championship.
His decision to mention former Knicks from the drought years struck a chord with many supporters.
Fans labelled the speech “special” and loved how it recognised older teams that never got a ring. Apparently, James Dolan was not among those who liked it.
The executive chairman and CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports, the company that owns the Knicks, appeared to take a swipe at Mamdani’s detailed look back through franchise history.
During his own parade speech, he said: “I don’t need your vote. I don’t need to quote you what happened. If you’re real Knick fans, you know it already.”
