Whispers that the royals intend to wipe the last traces of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore cottage aren't sitting well with its former tenants, an insider tells Examiner.
On Wednesday, May 27, The Sun reported that plans are underway to reverse the millions in renovations that the Duke and ******* ss of Sussex made to their former marital home, with ******* sments being made as to whether it can be converted back to two semi-detached houses.
"This is a huge slap in the face for Harry," says the insider. "Here he is, throwing all his energy into creating a path where he will feel safe bringing his wife and children home to England and right when he's sure he's making progress … it comes out that all the wonderful updates they made are being ripped apart. How are they not supposed to take that personally?"
Queen Elizabeth II gave Frogmore Cottage to Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, as a wedding present in 2018, but The Sun's source says it's been sitting "empty" since they put down roots in Montecito, California with their two young children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
"He accepts that it doesn't belong to them, but at the same time he does feel some sense of ownership and attachment to it," the insider admits. "He and Meghan poured their heart and soul into making it a beautiful home."
