The result, secured with goals from Bernardo Germano (2) and Gustavo Xisto (1), left Glorioso just one point behind América-MG, who sit in eighth place with 16 points.
The top eight teams in the standings will secure a place in the quarterfinals of the competition. To stay close to the qualification zone, the club from General Severiano will have to rely on slip-ups from Santos, who have 14 points, and Internacional and São Paulo, both on 13.
The team from Rio Grande do Sul, who pulled one back through Benjamin Santos, remained in 15th place and stayed on 10 points, but could be overtaken this round.
