India's red-ball tour of Sri Lanka got underway with a three-day practice match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI in Colombo on Friday.
It will give Shubman Gill's squad a valuable opportunity to acclimatise to local conditions ahead of the Test series.
After Sri Lanka Cricket XI declared the innings at 363/8, India responded with a solid batting display. Devdutt Padikkal's unbeaten 142 lifted the visitors to 357/6 at the end of second day.
Indian captain Shubman Gill, who suffered a knock during training, did not come out to bat on Saturday.
