The first-time MLB All-Star took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to announce that he will officially be participating in the 2026 Home Run Derby during All-Star Week in Philadelphia. Rice emerged as a key piece of New York’s lineup last season, but he’s taken his game to another level in 2026. With Aaron Judge sidelined for an extended period, Rice has stepped into the spotlight and has arguably been the Yankees’ most productive hitter.
Through 85 games, the slugging first baseman has put together an outstanding stat line, hitting 25 home runs, driving in 57 RBIs, scoring 59 runs, and posting a .360 on-base percentage. Those numbers have not only earned him his first All-Star selection but also an invitation to one of baseball’s most entertaining annual events.
