U.S. car maker wins 2025 sales race with 2.8 million vehicles sold

Car buying patterns in 2025 have been all over the place as consumers and the industry have adjusted to the automotive tariffs that dominated the conversation this year.
While the U.S. eventually got tariff burdens down to 15% for most of its trade partners, for much of the year, importers were paying 25% on autos and auto parts.
While carmakers made it clear that they would not raise prices in response to the tariffs, the threat of increased prices caused consumers to flock to car dealerships.

Every animal with a brain needs sleep — and even a few without a brain do, too. Humans sleep, birds sleep, whales sleep and even jellyfish sleep.
Sleep is universal “even though it’s actually very risky,” said Paul-Antoine Libourel, a researcher at the Neuroscience Research Center of Lyon in France.
When animals nod off, they're most vulnerable to sneaky predators. But despite the risks, the need for sleep is so strong that no creature can skip it altogether, even when it's highly inconvenient.
Animals that navigate extreme conditions and environments have evolved to sleep in extreme ways —

Strategy won’t be forced to sell Bitcoin if stock drops, Bitwise CIO says

President Donald Trump announced a major reset of federal fuel economy standards on Wednesday, rolling back Biden-era regulations that would have pushed automakers toward electric vehicles.
The move will save American families an average of $1,000 per new car purchase, the White House said. The policy reversal represents Trump’s latest effort to combat what he calls “hidden cost-of-living increases” from the previous administration. His reset of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards marks a significant victory for traditional automakers struggling to meet aggressive EV targets.
