FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Colts defense needed somebody to make a play.
New England quarterback Drake Maye had given Indianapolis trouble for most of the practice, buying time for his receivers to break open on a day when the Colts' depth pieces in the secondary had trouble keeping the Patriots in check.
Maye was trying to finish it off with a successful two-minute drill. New England's offense got the ball with 1:12 left on the clock, in need of a touchdown and looking for a final flourish to a good day.
Camryn Bynum was standing in his way.
"It was one of those things where we show man, then end up playing zone," Bynum said. "It was a good opportunity to mix up the looks on the quarterback, and me and him had a little staring contest for two seconds. He thought he could throw the ball over me."
